We believe in building a world where everyone has a decent place to live. That’s why for the past 35 years, this organization has delivered programs like affordable homeownership and neighborhood revitalization to ensure that local families have the opportunity to build brighter futures for themselves and their loved ones.
This name serves as a better reflection of our organization, as our ability to build homes, community, and hope has grown immensely in recent years through mergers with other local Habitat organizations. Our service area has increased threefold from this to encapsulate not only Burlington County, but also Mercer, Atlantic, and parts of Middlesex Counties – that’s 77 municipalities, from the Delaware River to the Jersey Shore. You can find a multitude of our projects throughout this region, as well as our ReStores in Hamilton, Maple Shade, and Egg Harbor Township.
While our name has changed numerous times as we have continued to evolve, our mission has remained the same. Nonetheless, we find it hard to continue our work without making what we do and who we serve abundantly clear. Once we reflected on our previous growth and future goals, we consulted with other local Habitats, our community of supporters, and Board of Directors in order to come to a new name consensus.
This announcement is merely the start of some big things happening here at Habitat, and we hope you will join us in our efforts to serve more families than ever before!
